About Tirol West

Updated: Jul 11, 2019

Tirol West is city, land, river, and mountain!

A deeply rich cultural landscape where the people take pride in tradition and a slower pace of life. It's not uncommon to see folks of all ages wearing Tirolean Tracht (beautifully handcrafted drindels or lederhosen), especially on Sundays.

We first came to this stunning area of Austria in 2015 for a week. With all honesty, a single week is hardly enough to even scratch the surface of this region, let alone truly explore everything it has to offer.

We decided to 'homebase' in the small town of Landeck, which proved to be the perfect spot for any and all adventures! We even got to drive into Italy for lunch (completely by accident) and hike some of the most beautiful mountain trails we've ever experienced (sorry Vancouver Island!)

But you don't have to take my word for it.

These spots speak for themselves! (links incl. in images)

Zammer Lochputz waterfall and caves with our Friends from Germany....

Blaue Grotte, in Imst

Yup, these views speak for themselves!

...as do these views....

(and yes, I ate the entire thing.)

~Cheers!
